What I’m Excited About

With Spring Training only about 6 weeks away, I have a few things that I am looking forward to:

1.  The endless possibilities of the rotation.

There are so many young guys up and coming that could break into the rotation this season that it’s exciting to think about.  The progression of this rotation and bullpen should be a lot of fun to watch, especially as the season trudges forward.

2. The development of Allen Craig.

Craig broke through last year after a stellar 2011 postseason, and looks to continue his progress in the new season.  Craig hit .307 in 2012 and hit 22 HR.  I’m looking forward to a potential increase in both of those statistics.  It’ll be interesting to see if he can keep up his clip of batting .400 with RISP.

3. The development of Pete Kozma

I think I’m more anxious than excited about this, but regardless I am looking forward to seeing what happens.  Kozma was never great in the minors, but when he came up at the end of the season, he filled in great, batting .333 in the regular season.  Though he struggled defensively in the postseason, I’m excited to see what he has for 2013.
