The Cardinals have to be jacked about their victory yesterday.

This afternoon, at 1:15, the Cardinals play their final game before the All Star Break. This final game could not be more critical. After a tough 10-game road streak, the Cardinals lost a series to the Marlins, won a four game set against the Pirates, and are now in a position to sweep the three-game series with the Brewers. The winner of tonight’s game will have the lead in the NL Central.

Tonight, the Redbirds put their faith in rookie-pitching sensation Martinez who, as of late, has found his rhythm and become more dominant on the mound. A sweep would have come out of nowhere as the Brewers struggle continues. Once 7 games ahead in the NL central and the best record in baseball, the Brewers have fallen on bad luck since attempting to sabotage Yadi for the All Star Game. Yesterday’s game, specifically, was proof of the Cardinal revenge.

Hard hit baseballs and a high scoring game can be expected today as the Cardinal offense has begun an assault on pitchers as of late. The Birds have not been shut out in the past 11 games, a season high, winning eight of that set.

Wong has been dominant lately. He has found his rhythm and the Cardinals are taking advantage of poor pitching.
