Adam Wainwright to Start Game 1

After a game that was interesting to say the least, the Cards are heading to the NLDS! The series starts tomorrow as the MLB gave the team playing in the Wild Card a day off.  The Cardinals announced earlier that veteran starter Adam Wainwright would face the Washington Nationals in game one. Wainwright (14-13) had a decent season coming off Tommy John surgery. He finished the year with a 3.94 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP; pitching 198.2 innings. This will be Wainwright’s first start in the Division series  since 2009. In one start he threw 8.0 innings  giving up one run on a Andre Ethier home run. Wainwright unfortunately ended up with a no decision due to Ryan Franklin blowing the save in the 9th.

Wainwright will look to continue his postseason dominance tomorrow versus the Nationals. Game starts at 2pm CT on TBS. Cardsblog will have both pre and postgame coverage. Go Cards!
