Kyle McClellan joined Brian Stull on 101ESPN this morning to talk about his signing with the Texas Rangers.

Here’s a little what they talked about:

WHY TEXAS:¬†He went to Texas because he thinks his family is going to be happy there which was most important. Secondly, he sees it as a good opportunity to succeed. He doesn’t want to be seen as insurance, he wants a chance to compete for a rotation job, and GM Jon Daniels assured him that he would have that chance to succeed.

ON CURRENT REHAB: It’s a slow process, but he threw off the mound on Monday for the first time. It was only 15 pitches, but it was a good start. He expects to have ¬†several more bullpen sessions before heading to Arizona and expects to be as healthy as everyone else come Spring Training. Thus, he expects to have the same chance as everyone else to make the starting rotation come Opening Day.
