Carlos Beltran hit his 29th career postseason home run on Sunday night, as he simply continues to dominate the playoffs. In the 2012 playoffs, he has hit a .400 (10-for-25) batting average, and has hit 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. Some other tidbits about Beltran’s recent performance:
— Beltran joins only Albert Pujols and Babe Ruth as the only players with 14+ home runs and a career .325 batting average in the postseason.
— Beltran has the second best HR/AB ratio in the playoffs (8) next to Babe Ruth (8.6)
— The only postseason series that Beltran has not homered in? The one game-playoff against the Braves last week.
Between his glove, his bat, and his lead-by-example mentality, Beltran undoubtedly what it takes to be the de facto leader of this team, at least in regards to the lineup. This may very well be one of Beltrans’ last chances to win a World Series and he is doing everything in his power to make that happen.
