Corey Hart, who was scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery today, will get a second opinion on his right knee after an MRI recently revealed a tear in his meniscus, which would likely cause him to miss the first half of the season, if not more. The two-time All-Star hit .270 in 2012 with 30 HRs and 83 RBIs. As this is the final year of contract, I’m betting Hart is doing anything he can to avoid surgery and play so he can cash out on a nice payday for the 2014 season.

You hate to wish ill will on a player and have that be a reason for your team’s success, but having Hart out would significantly hurt the Brewers’ lineup and would give the other teams in the central division a huge advantage when playing Milwaukee.
