Summary

• Edmundo Sosa is a 19 year-old shortstop from Panama. • Sosa was signed by the Cardinals in the 2012 International Signing Period, when the Cardinals inked him out of Panama for $425,000. • Sosa is more well-known for his offensive ability than his defensive ability, but does have some solid range at shortstop and projects as a shortstop, but could also be an above-average second baseman for the Cardinals down the road as well. • In 2015, Sosa finished with a .300 batting average, 7 home runs, 8 doubles, and 16 RBIs in the Appalachian League. His bat is definitely one of the strong points in his game right now, but he has room to develop some more pop as well.  As of now, Sosa is projected to land in St. Louis at some point in 2018 and I believe he compares well to Hanley Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox. Like Ramirez, Sosa has a lot of raw talent and the ability to impact a game from all angles. It will be interesting to see how Edmundo Sosa develops from here.
