Good Morning Cardinal Nation. Here’s what I have for you this morning:

WAINWRIGHT, GARCIA FOCUSED ON PRESENT: In Derrick Goold’s column this morning, he writes about how Adam Wainwright and Jaime Garcia are focusing on what the current situation is and not dwelling on the past, referring to Chris Carpenter who will not be pitching in 2013. Garcia says that he feels healthy and is ready to have a an effective Spring Training, one that will prepare him for a successful regular season. From the article:

Garcia isn’t ready to discuss what he expects against opponents. That’s thinking too far in the future. Instead, to explain how his shoulder feels now, he used the past.

“You can’t even compare it,” Garcia said. “You can’t even describe it. If you’re injured your mechanics are off, everything is off. You’re not healthy. Now I am. I’m feeling good. When you feel that way everything changes. Everything is different. When you’re injured you’re not capable of doing what you normally feel you can. So far, it’s been good. I have felt good.”

BALLPARK VILLAGE BREAKS GROUND: The day has finally come, and the Cardinals are finally going to break ground on Ballpark Village today at 11a.m. It is supposed to be ready for Opening Day 2014. It has been real long time coming, since they have been planning this ever since the new stadium opened up in 2006.

NEW BP HATS: Lastly, check out these retro-look BP hats that the Cardinals will be wearing throughout Spring Training. They are in some ways a tribute to Stan Musial.
