The Cards hope to keep their offensive surge alive as they take on the Orioles tonight at Camden Yard.

Fresh meat, Masterson, takes the mound after having a rocky first start for the Cardinals. He gave up five runs over seven innings in that outing. His ERA this season is well over 5.00 and the team cannot expect much from him. Fortunately, the bullpen is alive and well. The relievers combined for only two innings pitched last night in a relatively easy six outs.

That being said, motivation is high. Oftentimes, sports commentators overlook the raw emotion that comes from big wins like the Boston game last night. The Cards are now 61-52 on the season and are starting to gain some respectable offense. As a bonus, the Redbirds have beaten the Orioles in their last four series together.

Jon Jay is fighting off injury and looked solid last night as his status remains Day-To-Day which started Tuesday. This could be another motivating sign for the Birds. One real question remains, “Who will be the Cardinals’ DH without Craig?” ESPN has yet to report. If the offense performs like they did last night, the O’s may have a tough time finding a W.

I would love to see Kolten Wong go yard again at Camden. Gametime is 6:05
