Game Recap: Cards Win Sixth Game in a Row

The Bottom Line: The Cards win their sixth in a row as Michael Wacha (5-5, 2.79) returns to his first game after being on the Disabled List.  He only lasted three innings, however, as Marco Gonzalez (1-2, 5.40) came into the game and picked up the win.  The game was a close battle for its entirety with the Cards outlasting the Brewers 3-2.  Yadier Molina opened the scoring with a 2-run single in the first and Kolten Wong added on a run with an RBI single.  This would prove to be all the Cards would need as Trevor Rosenthal went on to earn his 42nd save.

Timing: The Cards are coming together at a crucial point in the season.  With Molina and Wacha coming back to the club, the Cardinals are finally performing at the level that we thought they were capable of at the start of the season.  Let’s hope they can keep it up with 6 games remaining against their NL Central rivals.
