Jaime Garcia has not pitched a full season since 2011 so we are not entirely sure what to expect from him. In 2011 he got Tommy John surgery but returned at the end of 2015 and looked to return to his former self. He posted a 2.43 in 20 starts pitching 129.2 innings. Garcia does not strike out many batters but induces many ground balls. He averages 2 ground outs per fly outs. Garcia’s fastball sits at 90MPH but neutralizes hitters by throwing a two seam fastball and a cutter. He has an average curveball but throws it less than 10% of the time. He also mixes in a changeup that he’ll throw 15% of the time but for the most part Garcia is a fastball pitcher. He won’t throw it by anybody but he does keep hitters uncomfortable by having his fastball move as well as constantly changing location.
