Jhonny Peralta is a rare shortstop that is middle of the order bat. Although he is much bigger than an average shortstop at 6”2’ 215 pounds, he is still above average at the position. In 2015 he was second in the National League in fielding percentage with a .986% with only 8 errors in 148 games. Although he is losing his range with his age, he still is a steady option at shortstop and is a reliable everyday option. Along with his glove, Peralta is an extraordinary hitter. He has raw power while still hitting for average. He has hit double digit home runs every season in the majors. Peralta’s major flaw is his strikeouts, striking out in 1 out of every 5 plate appearances.
