According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, rookie pitcher Joe Kelly will replace All-Star Lance Lynn in the starting rotation.

In his last 10 appearances Lynn has a 5.16 ERA while giving up 58 hits over 52.1 innings. ¬†Lynn pitched well enough in the first half to be placed on the NL roster for the All-Star game. Kelly continue to bounce back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen, and according to Cards manager Mike Matheny, “[the move] will be evaluated start-to-start”.

Hopefully this move will lead to more consistency in both the rotation and bullpen. As the bullpen has struggled immensely this year. The bullpen needs to improve if the Cards want to take the NL Wild Card.
