Lance Lynn hyperextended his right knee while planting it near first base in the first inning on Sunday’s game. He only made it through 3 and 1/2 innings, but he did not attribute his poor performance to the injury.
“The only way I’m going to tell someone I’m coming out of the game is if I can’t get the ball to home plate,” Lynn said. “I got the ball to home plate, didn’t I?”
The Cards’ training staff evaluated Lynn prior to Monday’s game against the Royals, and their results for a serious injury came back negative. Lynn is expected to make his next start on Friday, June 6th against the Blue Jays.
