-Magneuris Sierra is a 19 year-old outfielder born in the Dominican Republic • Sierra bats left and throws left, and his ETA to make the trip to St. Louis for good is 2018. • At 5’11’’ and 160 lbs, Sierra is more known for his contact at the plate than his power, and can show a lot of speed on the base paths and in the outfield as well. • The Cardinals signed Sierra for just $105,000 in 2012 out of the Dominican Republic, but Sierra didn’t make his debut in the Gulf Coast League until 2014. • The strongest three features of his game are his speed, arm strength, and hitting for contact. He is a very athletic center fielder and many MLB scouts believe that because of his strength in his wrists and forearms, he could be a double-digit home run hitter for the Cardinals at some point. • Right now, Sierra is very raw, and won’t see playing time in the MLB for a while. Most people love to compare him to Oscar Taveras just like they do for every other Cardinals outfield prospect, but I see him comparing better to Dexter Fowler.
