The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that “Chris Carpenter underwent neurogenic thoracic outlet surgery today. Mozeliak is pleased with results & anticipates a 2-3 month rehab period.”
Here’s to hoping for no setbacks and an injury-free 2013 year for Chris Carpenter…

UPDATE 4:16 PM: According to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the three-month recovery time is the time period in which Carpenter is not able to throw. It could be up until six months until he can pitch competitively again.
