Tonight, Chad Billingsley (4-9, 4.30) and the Los Angeles Dodgers will start a four game series against Joe Kelly (1-2, 2.75) and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Chad Billingsley makes his return from the disabled list tonight after going through a tough stretch of five straight losses. In his last start against the Cardinals, he went six innings and gave up three earned runs on eight hits. He also let up four walks and recorded seven strikeouts.

Joe Kelly goes to the mound tonight to make his eighth Major League start since being brought up in June. He has yet to allow three runs in a game and is coming off his fifth straight quality start from last Tuesday when he gave up two earned runs over six innings, including four strikeouts and one walk.

The Skinny: Both of these teams are hot right now. Both the Cards and Dodgers are coming off weekend sweeps of the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets, respectively, and their offenses are showing no signs of slowing down. I would say that between Billingsley’s weak elbow and Kelly’s tendency to leave a lot of guys on base, this is going to be a pretty high scoring and entertaining game.
