Good Morning Cardinal Nation. Here’s what I have for you this morning:

FINAL HOF THOUGHTS: Derrick Goold joined 101ESPN to discuss the Hall of Fame voting process, as did Chris Duncan. Ken Rosenthal explains why Wednesday’s vote was a not a problem, it was merely a snapshot in time. I think yesterday wasn’t surprising. It was unfortunate, but it was a reality that we have to face which is that steroids are not going to be condoned by the BBWAA. I truly see the sides of both arguments and think that they are both valid. I personally thought it was interesting that there was a difference in vote percentage between Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. Was there actually someone who thought one should get in and not the other? Seems pretty hypocritical to me.

JON JAY GIVING AWAY JERSEY: Click here to find out how you can win a signed 2013 jersey from Jon Jay.

ASTROS PROSPECT SUSPENDED: A top Houston Astros prospect, Jonathan Singleton was suspended 50 games for marijuana use. This was his second suspension since being drafted by the Astros. You would think players on the cusp of the Major Leagues would be self-disciplined enough to not smoke marijuana. For what it’s worth, I can’t imagine it really helped his performance either.

PIRATES ACQUIRE PITCHER: The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired RHP Jeanmar Gomez from the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday for a minor league pitcher. You have to think this is a reaction to the Francisco Liriano deal which is now in jeopardy after Liriano seemed to injure his non-throwing arm around Christmas time.
