James Ramsey, the Cardinal’s 1st round pick in the 2012 draft is off to a good start at High A Palm Beach. The 22 year old is hitting .290 with 9 hits and 3 SB through 8 games. During his senior season at Florida State, Ramsey hit .385 with 72 runs and 80 hits and won the Lowe’s Senior Class Award.

Meanwhile for the Low A Batavia Muckdogs, 2012 3rd rounder Tim Cooney is off to a terrific start. Through three appearances (two starts), the LHP Cooney is 1-0 with a 2.92 ERA through 12 1/3 innings and has yet to walk any of the 44 batters he has faced.

Here is a video of Cooney pitching with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod League last summer.
