What Happened To The Offense, Plus Mozeliak’s Thoughts

In the final three games of the 2012 NLCS, the Cardinals hit a mere .190 with just three extra-base hits. They hit .048 with runners in scoring position.

Well, that will do it. Can’t win ballgames without getting in runners in scoring position, let alone base runners. They had three opportunities to take this series and they just could not take advantage.

After the game, John Mozeliak said: “There’s a level of frustration over these last three games, because it doesn’t reflect how well we played baseball over the last four weeks. But to sit here and dwell on that, I just don’t think does this season justice. These guys have a lot to be proud of, and from an organizational standpoint, we feel very good about what happened this year.”
